Dur-X-Vulcan® Rubber Screen Material

An Economical Solution for Scalping to Mid-Range Sizing Applications

Dur-X-Vulcan® Bolt-In Screens (Type B) ReinforcedIn quarries and mines, constant pounding by rocks and ore inevitably shortens the life of perforated plate or wire cloth screens. Impacting stones cause poor production, and noise that is detrimental to both employees and the neighboring community. Plugging is another nuisance when screening rocks and other dry material. When heavy steel screens need changing, the job may require a crane or extra manpower.

Dur-X-Vulcan® rubber screens offer a practical, economical solution to such difficulties in applications that range from scalping to mid-range sizing.

Our Dur-X-Vulcan® line of molded rubber screen surfaces provides exceptional

Wear life    Reliability    Operating economy    Noise Reduction

Dur-X-Vulcan® Applications:
  • Primary scalping (dry high impact)
  • Primary wet (wet high impact)
  • Secondary dry
  • High abrasion
  • Tertiary dry
Dur-X-Vulcan® Rubber Screen Surfaces:
  • Ability to absorb impact
  • High resistance to abrasion and cuts
  • Steel Backing or internal framework provides strength and structural support
  • Molded tapered openings reduce the potential for plugging, which increases production
  • Lower production costs by lasting many times longer than wire cloth screens or punch plate
  • Noise Reduction
  • Note: 150 degree maximum temperature of material fed to rubber deck
  • Fewer change outs mean less labor
    • Less downtime
    • Fewer replacement screens
    • And more production

The Durex Difference
Durex factory technicians apply precise combinations of heat and pressure to deliver the best rubber-to-steel bond available. The Dur-X-Vulcan® molding and vulcanizing process uses only the highest quality rubber compounds. The resulting Dur-X-Vulcan® screens are far more cut and abrasion-resistant than cheaper punched, glued, or laminated rubber screens.

Square or Slotted Tapered Openings

  • Square tapered openings let material pass through easily, with accurate material sizing. Openings range from ¼ inch to 9 inches
  • Slotted tapered openings can be oriented parallel to the material flow for efficiency, or perpendicular to the flow for better sizing. Slots may increase production. Openings range from 3/16 inch x 13/16 inch to 4 inch x 6 inch slot openings
  • Round tapered openings are available from 2 inch diameter to 8 inch diameter
  • If we do not have an opening in our mold inventory, we have the ability to produce new mold openings in our state of the art CNC Machining Center
